BEST trip ever Traveled to Napa for my 40th birthday and we had THE BEST trip ever. The accommodations were lovely, spacious, clean and luxurious. The concierge was so responsive and helpful. The chefs were fantastic. I'd highly recommend this property. As a frequent traveler, I've stayed in many luxury rentals and this was by far my favorite. Everyone LOVED the suggested wineries and both chefs. Also, the house was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed all of the wine outings. The concierge services were stellar and we really appreciate all the assistance.
The house was as promised and was a beautiful scene. The home worked well, too! Each of the wine experiences provided something unique. I specifically am appreciative of the quick identification of a driver for us for the dinner at Press. We will most certainly keep you in mind for our next trip!

Everything was perfect Stayed here with friends and the thing that just blows away any other VRBO experience I've ever had was Sarah, the concierge. Made it SO easy to get everything whether transportation, wine tastings, etc.

Incredible trip! What an incredible trip! Our friends were very surprised about the location and didn't have any idea till we landed since our direction was masked by the clouds on take off. Every winery was spectacular and very special with private tours and incredible food! We can't say enough about each stop as the entire trip was EPIC!
We learned something new at each winery and all of the people that did the tastings, food, drivers, etc were so great. Not one complaint about anything.

Beyond our expectations We had an amazing weekend. The HideOut was beyond our expectations and I can’t thank you enough for all your help in planning. Our group is already asking about coming back!

House much more beautiful in person than in pictures! Everyone was blown away by the house. It was actually much more beautiful in person than in the pictures! It was also very helpful to be able to text the Concierge and get such quick responses any time we needed.

Everything I hoped it would be We were very lucky in the fact that all of our transportation including shuttles, flights and rental cars went as smoothly as possible on that first day allowing us to arrive on time at Chateau Montelena.
Chateau Montelena: Absolutely outstanding. Sheri was awesome-the weather, venue, food and wine were all outstanding. Perfect way to start. This was my favorite of the weekend.
Arrived at the Hideout with no problems-as you are well aware the house is great, and we used almost all of the space at one point or another throughout our stay. We struggled with the firepit a little and maybe a larger trashcan in the garage would be my only suggestions.
DBL-they were great. Always on time or earlier and full of great information. Would absolutely recommend them. Nathaniel and Julia were fantastic.
Saturday-down day was perfect. Some hiked, some stayed on the property all day-beautiful day.
Saturday night-Chef Mac. Food, presentation, conversation, and service were all absolutely outstanding. It went perfectly.
Sunday morning-Napa Valley Bike Tours. These guys were great and everything was ready for us when we arrived. Everyone in our crowd loved this day.
Sunday night-Chef Mac. Once again food and service were great. Chef Mac was awesome. 100% would use again.

The trip was everything I hoped it was going to be and all of my guests could not stop raving about everything we did and the attention to detail and perfect timing of the schedule.

We are all having Napa withdrawals! The trip overall was amazing and all the planning Sarah led really helped us make the most of our time there. I did find that many of the events ran long which meant that we were regularly running behind and was likely because we were a larger group than typical.

The dinner at The Charter Oak was very good and they were able to accommodate dietary requirements. Ana's cantina was entertaining and a good change from other evenings.

Probably the most challenging part to give feedback on is the arrangements for Meghann's birthday. It was a really nice day and she thoroughly enjoyed herself but we did have too much food planned. I was aiming for a light lunch but it was more like a dinner at 3pm so people were not hungry for the 'main event' at 7:30. Chef Allyson is fantastic and it was an extremely enjoyable class and the lunch was amazing. I am still not sure how to adjust that plan to have the class and put more time between lunch and dinner. The breakfast at Solbar was very good and we went for a nice walk through Calistoga afterwards. Maybe a couple of wine tastings after breakfast rather than the class would have been better, but everyone really enjoyed the class. It's a tough call.... and we did have 3 friends not drinking wine that I had to be mindful of.
The flowers from EV Florists were amazing and it was nice to stop by the shop and chat with Barbie.

On Sunday we opted to not visit Gott's and had brunch at the house instead, adjusting from the prior day's overeating! It was a long drive again but worth the visit at Progeny. Fantastic views and the venue is excellent. We all really enjoyed meeting Dan at Vin Fraiche. He is a real 'wine nerd' and great to chat with. The venue was also amazing and took everyone by surprise when looking at the outside. It was a lot of fun.

Having the two meals by Chef Kel was also great. The casual dinner got us off to a great start. He set just the right tone and the pizzas were amazing.

The only two things that I would have changed for the weekend would have been reducing the driving on Friday and Sunday and having one or two more wine tastings. That said, everyone had a truly amazing time at the Farmhouse and the places that we visited are really just very minor - and a great excuse for us to return for more wine tastings! As a testament, many of our friends have mentioned having Napa withdrawal and I can attest to that!

One thing about the Farmhouse is that the beds are quite soft and most people prefer firmer beds in my experience. I never did figure out the lighting in the entry cinema room / family room.

Very Memorable The family truly enjoyed their time together at the property this weekend.

Chef Kelly was phenomenal. Everyone truly appreciated the freshness of his produces. You can really tell he grows everything with love. (His peas are to die for!). The magician was a success. He was great. He showed up on time and was great for the kids.

All wineries were perfect. Diamond Mt did win as the best winery experience. Safari West was great! Baby rhino is so cute, you need to go see him!!!

Johnny’s was exactly what we wanted.

We enjoyed the house very much. The animal rugs in all the furniture are not comfortable, nor practical. They are hard to sit on and they shed lots of hair. Everyone was complaining about it.

The house was amazing Hi! Out of all of the wineries, we loved Pride, Fleury, Kerr, and Frank the best. Jay at Pride was the best! Brian at Fleury was the most fun. Hall had sparkling rose so that was different and great. Dell Dotto was cool because you got to have wine right from the barrel. Kerr had wonderful wine and Adriana Chinsky was so nice and super fun.
We had lunch at Farmstead and sat outside. It was beautiful and the food was amazing. Sunshine foods was a great place to shop. We got some amazing cheeses and made a yummy board.
The house was amazing. We loved the kitchen and cooked every night. Everyone was really happy with the house. The only issue was we couldn’t make any phone calls on our cells. The wifi was good but we really needed to be able to make calls.

Experiencing serious withdrawals, incredible experience The entire group was stunned by the whole experience and are experiencing serious withdrawals.
We loved Sushimotos! It was probably our favorite experience. The quality of the sushi blew us away.
The massage therapists were wonderful, kind, flexible and the whole experience was incredibly relaxing.
Chef Kel is amazing. We had a blast with him and loved his food.
We did not originally plan to go wine tasting but we visited the Laurel Glen tasting room and loved it. That was it. We also loved the wine selection at the lodge and enjoyed two bottles that I will ensure are part of the invoice.
The only feedback we have is that the ice machine was not working well. We had very little ice and wish we would have known to bring more but no biggy. In addition, our master room upstairs (the one with the large bathtub) had a missplaced screen door. I couldn't get it back on its track.

I think the only suggestions I would make are that the non-stick frypans could be replaced and also some non-metal flippers for those might help keep them from getting scratched up.

would definitely recommend St Helena French Farmhouse! The view was beautiful. We had a fantastic trip! The house was lovely! A couple of hiccups. The guests were cold in the guest house and one of the showers in the main house probably needs a new showerhead, it didn't flow right.

Nathaniel of DBL was very helpful. We did not end up staying at Charter Oak for dinner It was not what we were expecting. Highly recommend Bottega – they were so accommodating! Merci the fitness instructor was fantastic! She was so cute facilitating our group. The massage therapists Angela and Janese were much appreciated! Mount George Winery was a treat. Not commercial, very warm and welcoming. Hans Fahden is beautiful.

Best trip ever We had the most wonderful weekend and celebration for Ruth’s Birthday was terrific. The house is simply stunning.

Chef Kelly is a hoot not mention a fantastic chef - everyone loved him and the interactions with him were terrific. By the second night he felt like an long-time friend.

Having a wine tasting with terra valentine on day one was perfect as it allowed us all to get there in one piece and get right into the Napa experience.

Clay was terrific, perfect for our group. Very talented, had a huge repertoire of songs/artists/genres and we were all singing along at the top of our lungs.

Nathaniel was incredible, what a wonderful gentleman. We had a little glitch with a wine reservation on the last evening and he had a new plan developed within minutes.

All of our guests have described this as the "best trip ever” and my wife Ruth was simply overwhelmed. Thanks to Sarah for making it all seem simple!

Must be Experienced to Fully Appreciate this Magical Destination Chef Allyson was OUTSTANDING!! What treasures she and her team are, highlight of the trip was her delicious food!! Her vegan creations were some of the best I’ve tasted and hands down the best vegan birthday cake ever!!
Sushimoto's? DELICIOUS!! Great way to mix up the menu offerings, very inventive options that everyone enjoyed, even non sushi eaters were raving about his noodle dish. Excellent suggestion!
Our favorite winery was Progeny, it was fantastic!! We’re we’re there first and drove through the mist and when it lifted and revealed the spectacular view…just awesome!! A close second was Terra Valentine, such a personalized visit and authentic experience, that was certainly very special.
The Emerald Farm Crew was wonderful and experts at their craft. We had a wide range of people with varying experience and I was quite impressed with how well received they were. Def recommend them!!
Breakfast by Graze Provisions hit the spot. A bit expensive for what it was. I think purchasing bagels, fruit and spreads would’ve been just as good. That’s the only thing I would’ve done differently.

It was all and all spectacular, The Hideout cannot be properly explained or translated in pictures, it must be experienced to fully appreciate the wonder, beauty and awe of this magical destination. All of our guests agreed that this is a one of a kind spot and the most spectacular 50th birthday celebration!!
I think the Farmhouse might have to be next, possible a girls trip? Thank you so very much for all you did to ensure a wonderful memory that will be cherished for a lifetime.

These experiences will last a lifetime! Chef Allyson and Dom was fantastic. Food was unbelievable. I think the Sommelier she brought was very new to his role, but he did a fantastic job handing the “front of house”. Would totally recommend this team again!

Our driver from Perry's Tours for the next three days was Tom and he was super knowledgeable and incorporated a lot of his knowledge to the trips which we appreciated.

The massage therapists were very nice and very accommodating! 5 out of 5!

Chef Kel and his son Ryan were a treat. He was a polar opposite to Allyson which made the experiences different which I think is important. If we would have only had 1 or the other, I think it could have lost it’s appeal.
Was there a favorite winery experience? – Del Dotto and Far Niente were great but your recommendation to do Progeny was AMAZING! What a cool place and the wine was fantastic. I think 4 of the 5 couples became members and the 5th couple still bought wine.

We didn’t arrive until 10:30 pm but it was easy to figure everything out and the guidebook is easy to read!
If I had anything negative to report it would be the location of the jacuzzi! There are so many beautiful spots to locate it but somebody found the ugliest place! We never used it so that is just feedback because you asked for feedback, otherwise I wouldn’t have mentioned it.
We only needed the caretaker once and he was fast and fixed the problem.

Loved all of our other dining experiences. Glen Ellen star, tips, Palooza, and Campo Fino. We loved the great food in a super casual setting. Favorite meal may have been at the house.

5 stars The Calistoga hideout was a unique and fun place to stay and visit Napa. Spacious and comfortable and a >20 min drive into downtown Calistoga and close to a number of wineries. We would stay here again.

Everything was just as promised, the interior is incredible, such a unique home to spend a Girls weekend in the wine country. Although, it is a bit out of the way, staying on-site is a highlight with Chef Kelly at the helm, I understand the food was creative, healthy and beautifully presented!!

We also had Chef Kelly MacDonald cook for us on property (recommended by the concierge team ) and his food was spectacular. He will make whatever you want and works with you to figure out what's best for your group!

Nathaniel & DBL were amazing--they really made the trip so easy. Not having to worry about transportation and being flexible as we added days and switched plans (swinging through safeway each afternoon!!) here and there was a relief. He also worked with Clark behind the scenes to surprise me at one of the wineries with a beautiful cake. I felt very spoiled!

Kelly was also very easy to work with and was a pleasure on the evening of our main dinner. He fit right in with our group. And the food was exceptional.

Your staff--totally accomodating and helpful. The two ladies who helped us check-in and get situated were kind hosts. We had everything we needed (and then some!)

Our accommodations were wonderful. The details of the house were even more impressive in person than online. And the views--WOW!!! Nothing better than a cup of coffee or a glass of wine out by the pool.

Expectations Exceeded! Let me start by saying we had a great week at the Lodge at Kenwood, and the property exceeded our expectations. We weren't sure how we'd enjoy staying in Kenwood due to the relative remoteness, and we weren't sure if the house would have a level of creature comforts to keep our crew of 9 happy for a week. The answer was a resounding YES to both questions! We will definitely consider a Blair Spangler property the next time we're visiting the area.

The Kitchen - what an awesome kitchen at the house. I don't think we needed anything all week that wasn't already provided. Whoever made the decision of what to supply and how to equip it did an amazing job!

Great House The house was excellent. We stayed there to visit wineries throughout the area. We had Chef Kelly with us for 2 nights and the food was excellent. Nathaniel from DBL was our guide and driver for the wineries and we had a blast with him. The house had plenty of wine and food storage and the bedrooms were perfect for the group. The main living area was a great place to hang out, drink some wine, watch Chef Kelly work his magic and listen to some music. We would absolutely stay here again.

The rooms were very nicely appointed with comfortable linens, towels, etc. All the vendors were awesome, including Kelly who is very passionate and Allie who did a spectacular job with her team.
Graze was perfect for a day by the pool. That day was very windy which put a kink in things but mother nature cannot be predicted.
Massages were excellent, both technicians did wonderful jobs.

The property is great and located in a private area that makes it safe and comfortable to be relaxed. The outdoor spaces are so inviting. The pool and lounge areas are terrific as we spent the warm, sunny days relaxing with friends and family. Everyone who supported our stay throughout the Blair Design Team was professional and accommodating. We are so glad we selected this home to stay in and we are so excited to return soon.

Chef Kelly & Chef Allie were incredible. Our team, CEO & CCO really loved Chef Kelly and I'll probably be dreaming about his food for the rest of my life. :) Lunch at Picayune ended up being perfect! The wines were great and it was nice to have the private patio area. One thing to note was just that the pescatarian food option contained bacon which luckily was caught before consuming. I wanted to flag that in case you end up booking something similar again & have dietary restrictions in the group.

Honestly, all of the vineyards were great and we loved that each one was a different experience. I'd say Pride Mountain was by far our favorite.

Such a memorable trip! We loved our stay!! NVTT was amazing, as was the dinner by Allie!! We all could not stop talking about Allie’s delicious food, and how sweet she is! Southside Catering’s owner delivered the food and he was shocked we found the home for rental- he had not been there and loved it. His food is also super delicious, beautifully prepared- I recommend him highly! Mary’s taco bar was good, just not as spectacular as the others… but she was very nice to work with, her food was delivered and she left me with heating instructions. No complaints at all! Peter was very kind and did a great job with check-in, and I believe someone else did the grocery delivery, it was also amazing, so well done!! The house was really amazing and we all loved it all (minus the curvy road to get there- HA! HA!).

Just FYI, last minute on Friday we called to Cornell Winery and got to go for a private tasting…they are really great people, and the wine was delicious. Of course, Press did an amazing job with our dinner and the service was incredible! We have to say the same for our luncheon we had at Farmstead on Saturday- very top notch and beautiful!

The house was perfect for our group - the en-suite bedrooms, the outdoor spaces, indoor/outdoor living in both the main living room and in the sun room, the well-stocked kitchen...all of it made the weekend so enjoyable.
Oliver's takeout was great for a low key meal at the house and there was plenty of food leftover for us to repurpose for huervos rancheros the next day. It was also such a treat to have the fridge stocked. Paul Perry was AWESOME. He was considerate and very professional. Our wine tastings were equally enjoyable - especially the paired cabernet tasting at Sequoia Grove!!
We enjoyed our dinner at home with Chef Kelly. He was not our favorite but it's only because everyone else was so so amazing. The lunch meal at Sequoia Grove really set the bar high. With Chef Kelly, we appreciated the fresh local ingredients and his pride in his craft truly comes through but I think portions were a bit off - we felt so wasteful not clearing our places at each course. He was also the least responsive in the planning process.
The consistent sentiment from all of the guests this weekend was how relaxing and well-planned it all was - we had just the right balance of activities and down time to enjoy the house and all of its amenities.

The staff of Picayune created a beautiful, intimate setting for an incredible lunch and wine pairing. Everyone left complimenting the food and service we received. We would highly recommend this choice again. Burgess provided a great "behind the scenes experience" and teaching, followed by an extravagantly set outdoor tasting. Burgess wines were a crowd favorite, with I believe purchases and memberships among the group. Stags Leap was an excellent choice for our final stop, with a grand entrance, exit, and experience in between. We loved the cave tour, private tasting, and delicious wines.

DBL transportation overall was great in being patient, helpful and sensitive to our groups needs. They were always early for pickup and returns, and accommodating to needs in between. The road conditions, even though we had read in the descriptions, affected several of our guests with motion sickness.

The "activities day" went smoothly and was enjoyed by all. Our zipliners had a great adventure, and loved hearing the stories of the background of the camp, trees, and random corny but funny jokes. The trek to and from the park seemed longer than anticipated, over an hour I believe. Returning from ziplining to the idea of a relaxing massage, made the day even better. Brendan was so great to work with in arranging the massage schedules and preparing outdoor locations for each massage. He, Anthony and Janesse all gave incredible massages to all of our recipients.

We all appreciate all of the time and work that went into the entire trip. From the walk thru with Peter, to having assistance available at any hour, to luckily not having to ask for much help because your team covered it all....we literally would not change a thing about this trip. Thank you for all of your expertise and hospitality. We all know this trip will be hard to beat, but we are sure gonna try:)

Mia was an excellent tour guide. The winery she brought us to for the tasting wines was very average. As they were only serving us at the time I felt somewhat obligated to purchase some of their wine.
Chef Kelly was wonderful. I think it was probably the best meal we have ever eaten.
In regard to the house everything was nice.
This didn't diminish our stay in any way but if you truly want to provide a high end experience you may want to consider upgrading the linens and pillows.
We truly enjoyed our time and will definitely recommend your properties in the future.

Water pressure was poor, but that's probably just how it is with well water. The well water was delicious though, right out of the tap. The all-white living room space was a little unnerving for wine country and kids, but we just tried to avoid it and hang outside mostly. Communication with the managers was excellent.

Opportunity of a lifetime Very few NEW properties exist today that can actually transport you in time! This is one of those place. Besides being in the middle of wine country and on a Zen-like creek. The place is a recreation of a time in the past. The great camps of the Adirondacks. From the time you exit the main road and work your way up the hill, wow! You will be greeted by a caretaker and transported into the past, but everything is new. Amazing creation and attention to detail. Every room had a theme and the space was LARGE from the greatroom, the billards room and patios the incredible bedrooms! We also indulged with a chef (Kelly). - A MUST! The concierge service team was fabulous- setting dinners, wine tastings, cars, even outfitting house with an amazing wine list and foods. We have never had service or been in such a magical place! Birthday with Friends The property was amazing! The home was decorated beautifully with such an eye for detail, nothing was missed. The space accommodated our group of adults with ease. We also had Chef Kelly Macdonald cook for us on property (recommended by the concierge team ) and his food was spectacular. He will make whatever you want and works with you to figure out what's best for your group!

Absolutely excellent! The interior design of the house is beyond unusual, the photograph do not show the attention to detail and uniqueness of each room. Although for some the taxidermy is a bit bizarre but oh so cool! The two floor open layout dramatic kitchen is the centerpiece of the house. The concierge hooked us up with a dream-chef, Chef Kelly's meals were amazing, he used mostly all his own grown vegetables and whipped up some major dinners plus he is so entertaining.

Only one negative, which really is fine if you are aware, the property is quite far out of the beaten-path. Hire drivers if you are wine tasting but stay in for great dinners.

Unique and memorable experience The Calistoga hideout was a unique and fun place to stay and visit Napa. Spacious and comfortable and a >20 min drive into downtown Calistoga and close to a number of wineries. We would stay here again.

Incredible home We were couples celebrating a friend’s birthday and we couldn’t have picked a more fantastic home! The house is beautifully decorated and has every amenity you could possibly need. The heated pool was such a luxury! Definitely take advantage of the amazing concierge services. We had Chef Todd prepare a special meal, paired wine tasting and a cheese tasting at the house. Nothing but the best. We would definitely stay here again.

The Kenwood Lodge The property is secluded, large and very well appointed. The staff was very responsive to all our needs. The living spaces are very spacious and inviting. the outdoors is beautiful and screams relaxation. Overall I would say it is a 4.5 star property. I am subtracting .5 stars for a few negatives that I will list below ...
1. The pool is not inviting. The water cools dark and dirty (which its not, but the color of the pool base is probably a dirty brown or green.
2. The upstairs rooms felt stuffy at night. Definitely need fans which they provided when we asked for them.
3. There is just one TV in this huge home.
Definitely a lovely place to getaway. Highly recommend, though it is very expensive but of course allows your group privacy.

The rooms were unique and comfortable. The setting and views are a huge plus for this property. We were couples traveling together to celebrate birthdays. Everyone had their own room and bathrooms which made it private and relaxing.

The host team had everything ready for the guests - anything you might need is likely available. We had a great and unforgettable experience.

The St Helena French Farmhouse, in it’s entirety, is designed with impeccable taste.
Attention has been paid to every detail with a Blair inspired Flair for the interesting. The entire property has been carefully curated yet remains comfortable in a space that you both enjoy and RESPECT.


Concierge and Staff - I think is an optional resource, helpful and engaged beyond measure. I cannot imagine our trip would have been as absolutely amazing as it was without their tireless attention to every desire.

The Main house is elegant but relaxed. Suitable for romantic weekends and family gatherings.

Each bedroom is carefully and beautifully appointed. There is simply no space on the entire property that is not stunning in its own way.

The pool area has expansive views and ample space for eating, relaxing, working out, sipping wine and after sipping wine dancing!

The yoga platform was a lovely and serene space to stretch out, see forever and breathe and breathe… and breathe.

I asked all of my guests to share their own review of our trip and the property and they each responded, to the person, with one word…. “Perfect!”

This place is absolutely gorgeous. It provides easy access to all that Napa and Sonoma can provide but you can also hide away for your own private vacation with quiet and beautiful surroundings, I recommend it highly for its' interior design and professional staff as well.

Close to Calistoga and Sonoma and Napa Valley vineyards, this is an ultimate luxury vacation desitination. The exclusivity of the wine and vineyards that The Ranch Above St. Helena has access to is unparalleled. For relaxing or enjoying the bounty of the region, you could not find a better spot.

Next time they want to make cheese 🧀 it’s very hard for the group to pick between Repris and Hamel those experiences were over the top and such beautiful grounds! Chateau St. Jean was great too, the grounds are beautiful and Maurice was wonderful. But I think the group more enjoyed the other two. Chef Kel was the absolute best he taught everyone how make a perfect omelette among other things! So great with the kids and the adults too! His personality is great and pretty much aligns perfectly with our group. We are very laid back and we were so comfortable! We can’t wait to come back and try the other properties! Peaceful and perfect Let’s face it: 2020-2021 has been tough on families. With trips canceled and parents stretched to the max, life has been stressful. We were all in need of a getaway, and the St. Helena French Famhouse was perfection. The hosts were quick to respond and accommodating to our needs. The communication beforehand was great, including visual guidance for how to drive the last section up the mountain. On arrival, the hosts met us at the time we indicated, had the AC going, the pool ready, and lovely touches like lollipops for the kids and a perfect fruit display for us to enjoy. Each room is a special with unique design touches that delighted us all. The infinity pool is the showstopper of the home, and the majestic views while swimming or while lounging poolside will be a go-to “happy place” in future meditations and dreams. Once we were there, we did not want to leave and really there was no need to. The kitchen was well-stocked and easy to use with a thoughtful layout that any home cook or chef would enjoy. There were piles of magazines to peruse, tea and coffee to enjoy in the mornings, board games, and a fun media room where our kids spent most of their non-pool time. We found it very family-friendly. While the house is loaded with antiques and vintage pieces, they were sturdy enough that we did not fear accidental breakage. The showers were great, and the tub in the primary bath was easy and sumptuous. We dined inside and outside and enjoyed all locations, including a beautiful flower garden bursting with hydrangea. This is a slice of heaven on earth. We hope to return.

Gorgeous inside and out! This *brand new* house is spectacular in its design and finishing touches! We had a great stay with a small group and enjoyed cooking, playing games, hanging by fire with glasses of wine. Blair and her team are fantastic, very responsive and open to suggestions about the house. The kitchen is to die for and has everything you could want and more. We had Chef Kel cook for us on our first night. He is as amazing as his food. Highly recommend!

Wonderful property! We had a marvelous time at this wonderful property. There’s something extremely peaceful about being surrounded by giant redwoods. The “hideout” was exactly the escape we needed. The house is extremely well appointed- particularly the kitchen. We also enjoyed the stocked wine refrigerators where we could “shop” and try some delicious wines. The caretaker was very responsive. We would definitely stay again!

What a wonderful experience it was getting to know him and his cuisine right there in the beauty of that kitchen/dining room. We are all planning our return trip.

Amazing You have to see it to believe it - this place is amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. We stayed -beyond comfortably - in this home and all marveled at the attention to detail. We had reservations to go out to eat the first evening and immediately ditched them to stay at the house and cook and hang out instead, which we chose to do each night we were there. I was just as happy to come back to this home each evening as I was to head out to the wineries each day. My only regret was that we didn't have more time there. I hope to be lucky enough to return again one day!

A truly special place We had a wonderful time at the Calistoga hideaway, I imagine there truly is no other accommodation like it. Every single nook and cranny is beautifully curated with an unbelievable attention to detail. Once we checked in we didn’t leave until check out, the place is absolutely magical. A truly remarkable Hideaway!! My group of couples ventured here to celebrate a 50th birthday. Everyone was completely wowed by the property. We have had similar trips all over the world and I can truly say that this property was the most unique. Every nook and cranny is filled with true to period antiques! (Nothing made in China here). All in all a truly unique experience and we were very well cared for! I highly recommend this property without hesitation!

Magical place deep in the woods There was plenty of space. Blair has created a work of art which is a huge, magical, extremely large cabin in the woods. exceptional from beginning to end. Each room is unique. Small touches that make a big difference to us is were private bathrooms for each bedroom, soap/ shampoo provided, very well equipped kitchen, and being able to schedule cleaning everyday. The fire pit area was loved by everyone. We really had an exceptional experience.

Unique Experience in Calistoga Our group stayed in the Hideout for a company offsite, and it was quite the experience! Every detail has been thought about in this home, and the staff is incredibly attentive and accommodating! Would definitely recommend!

One downside is that it is a bit challenging to find as the home is located on a private road in the woods, but it sure is beautiful!

A Step Back in Time Amazing trees, photos do not do it justice. What a cherished experience for us to sleep among the giants. I have never seen such trees at a private home. And yet we were right in the center of the wine country. A quick 15 minutes to downtown Calistoga and we also went north to Healdsburg and Sonoma wineries one day. The house is a very special experience unto itself. They explained that it is meant to feel like you are in late 19th century California (their Caretaker meets you and gives a tour at check-in). There is so much memorabilia of the wild west, also great books and photos and videos. We had so much fun. The guys loved the pool hall with its poker platform and bar. The fire pit under the trees is too, too great. We only regret we did not spend more time at that amazing house. We will be back! Thanks to the owner and staff service and attention to detail were excellent.

I've been a chef for a few smaller events here many years ago. It's a great place to put together food for guests with a beautiful, full kitchen, a pantry and excellent views of Napa Valley from the property.

High on Spring Mountain amongst great vineyards you really had great vantage. There is a platform with spectacular view where we had private yoga session that the the Blair group helped organise. Speaking of service, the caretakers are available down the road from the ranch most of the day and are extremely responsive. Whenever we needed something addressed or had questions, they were extremely helpful. The villa itself is very well appointed and spacious. We made full use of the pool, media room and the kitchen. Really enjoyed it and would definitely come back. The only thing to point out is that the road to the ranch is not the easiest to navigate particularly at night.

5 stars for the property, 4 stars for the drive This house is completely immaculate. Somehow the pictures don't do it justice. We here for my 40th birthday celebration. Everyone had their own bathroom, plenty of space around the house for people to enjoy each other or have time on their own. We used a company they recommended to have a chef come to the house one night. Then we had a bus drive us around to different wineries the next day. My only complaint, or something to be aware of is that it is 20 minutes of very curvy roads on the way there. Then once you get to the "driveway" of the house, it is about a 3 minute drive on a steep and curvy gravel road. This makes it a little challenging at night or even after going to a tasting or two. Otherwise the house is absolute perfection.

I really don’t have any words to describe the wonderful time we had at The Ranch! Everything was perfect! Please don’t doubt one second to rent this place! It’s totally worth it!

Our nearest and dearest stayed here for our wedding. It was magical. I could never say enough positive things about this place and am currently trying to talk my husband into going back every year for our anniversary!

CRU9 wine women's trip It's beautiful... The property, the house. Layout of the house is great. Open living and kitchen area out to the patio/pool. Clean, plenty of linens, for a rental home very well stocked chef's kitchen. We brought a private chef in and she even commented it was probably one of the best kitchens she had walked into for a rental house. We did a wine pairing dinner and had plenty of wine glasses! The view is spectacular. We got great use out of the hot tub and fire pit as it was very chilly during our stay. We will come back. Thank you.

Wonderful house, wonderful location, wonderful team ...great location Months ago I picked this location and planned this for a once in a lifetime intimate wedding destination for my son.

It could not have gone any better (and I have photos to prove it !!).

The Blair Spangler group was wonderful to deal with. They were very professional. Their website was extremely detailed and informative (photos and videos of the property).

In many respects they were the behind the scene planners. I contracted for their concierge services and got my moneys worth. Flower selection, cake selection, caterer selection, site location, decorations, fine china, music, in home chef, in home make-up, delivery service of food and wine ..... you name it, they provided great insights, knowledge and experience.

The location on top of Spring Mtn, provided stunning views morning and evening. Remote yet easily accessible to the Napa Valley town of St Helena.

The house was 5 stars. Gorgeous bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower for 2. A cooking show quality kitchen. A media room with all channels and streaming available. A great room where all could gather, dine, celebrate and relax. A stunning top-of-the-hill Summit deck readily available for living large.

The cherry on top was the well appointed cottage down the driveway. We used it as the get-ready suite and it was in a class all its own. My son and his new bride were thrilled and made their rare appearances to drink wine on deck at the fire pit, dine with us in the spacious dining room or take wine tasting trips with us. 5 stars.

Perfect for family at Thanksgiving The property was the perfect solution for our family to get together at Thanksgiving. The media room was great for football viewing and the dining area was able to seat everyone. The hot tub was a nice respite in the afternoon and the bocce area was well-used. Although we couldn't swim, the pool deck was perfect for yoga practice. The downsides were that I had to plan everything. I had asked the "concierge" to find a chef and arrange a day of wine tasting. Although the fires occurred in October, there were weeks prior to the fires to arrange things. Because we have some contacts in the area, we arranged everything ourselves. They also didn't know the answers to simple questions concerning the coffee maker (FYI there are filters on the property). I did find a wonderful private chef and a great wine touring company. The kitchen is fairly well equipped. Some of the sheet pans provided are too large for the oven. There were no large rolls of foil or plastic wrap and only three small kitchen towels. There are two dishwashers (great for a crowd) but the bottom racks could not hold all the dishes because they came off the tracks as they were a little flimsy (shocking for a Bosch). As a whole, it is a great property and perfect for our family get together. ]

Perfect escape in wine country We loved every moment at this beautiful property. Gorgeous home with plenty of space for our group. Luxury kitchen that made vacation cooking fun, and enjoyed an amazing dinner on the beautiful patio. We enjoyed the hot tub everyday....the perfect way to relax after a day of wine tasting.

GORGEOUS. A Slice of Hospitality Heaven on Earth The pictures do not do this home justice. It is surrounded by walls of Ivy, protected and shaded by majestic redwoods and the furnishings bring an elevated aire to the casual familiarity of Kenwood.

The staff is extremely attentive and considerate of every ask you may have. If you're looking to stay somewhere and have a place to relax and lounge look no further.

We loved the fire pit, grand outdoor dinner table, canopy bed near the pool and closing gate to allow the kids to roam freely.

Highly recommended, its a lush secret!

Relax in Wine Country A great way to stay in wine country...relaxing at this lovely property in Kenwood. We found ourselves enjoying dinner outside under the trees, having wine around the gas fire pit and when the weather turned a little cooler the beautiful stone fireplace in the great room was even more inviting. Spacious home that gives you privacy and room to gather. Having Chef Kelly MacDonald prepare us breakfast and dinner is highly recommended and a must....thank you for a wonderful time in wine country with our friends.

Gorgeous house and view- couple of small downsides We recently stayed at the Ranch Above St. Helena. It was an absolutely gorgeous place to spend our time in Wine Country!! We had a group of couples for a 40th birthday trip, and it was just awesome. The house is beautifully decorated, a wonderfully equipped gourmet kitchen, wonderful sound system. It has everything... pool, bocce ball, overlook deck, outdoor table for dining, hot tub, awesome media room. Our group really enjoyed it. The Blair Spangler group that manages it was very helpful in providing vendors in the area for transportation, food, restaurants, massages, wineries, etc. The property manager was more than accommodating on our trip.
Also, this property is literally up a VERY STEEP mountainside, so just be aware for transportation purposes and for those who are easily carsick... it's bumpy, windy, and the altitude changes... all of which can make some people queasy on the ride down.
Other than that, the house truly is gorgeous and was an absolutely perfect place for our large group to have a relaxing stay in Wine Country. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to this area!

The entire property was impressive and the house was so elegant yet very comfortable for our group! I highly recommend The Ranch Above. The entire management team were accommodating and responsive to all our questions and needs. We had a couple days of a heat wave and had no problem with the AC. They even had an additional unit in the media room. Our entire group was able to watch the football game with plenty of seating. The outside entertaining space was absolutely perfect. Plenty of seating and the pool was large. Outdoor grilling was available making our nights relaxed and just hanging by the pool. Yes it's at the top of Spring Mountain(totally worth the drive up). So you may plan your days accordingly. Our plan was just to relax in the morning by the pool, out for lunch and afternoon. Then back for the evening and dinner. Had a private chef one of the nights. Fantastic experience! There is just plenty to do and the bocce ball court was an added plus. We played every night. Thank you Blair Spangler for your beautiful property. Can't wait to come back.
